Anita Richter is heading the OECD’s work on Ukraine. She is in charge for co-ordinating the strategic engagement with Ukraine to support the country’s reforms, recovery, and reconstruction.
 
Before taking this role, Ms Richter has been leading the economic policy co-operation with South East Europe and providing policy advice for governments of the region, where she led different strategic streams of work on structural reforms, green and digital transition, and SME resilience. She lead and co-authored a number of regional OECD reviews, including the SME Policy Index, Competitiveness Outlook, Labour Migration, Circular Economy, to provide evidence-based reform recommendations.
 
Prior to joining the OECD in 2011, Ms Richter worked for the German government with duty stations in Moscow, Bishkek and San José.
 
She holds a PhD in Economics from the Warwick Business School (UK). She completed her postgraduate studies in Business Administration and Slavic Studies at the University of Leipzig (Germany).
