1968-1977-Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of “ALLATINI S.A.”
Elected M.P. for the first time in 1977 with the NEA DIMOKRATIA party.
From 1977 to 1981 Under-Secretary of Housing. During his tenure he reformed the framework for the development of living spaces. Major groundbreaking legislation was introduced. Innovations were attempted and since emulated allover Greece: the pedestrian areas of Voukourestiou and most importantly of Plaka.
Established the Ministry of the Environment and became its first Minister.
From 1980 to 1981, Minister of Industry and Energy.
From April 1990 to August 1991 Minister of the Environment and Public Works. Is credited with innovative measures to effectively reduce the Athens nefos (aposyrsi). He completed very rapidly the negotiations to get the Athens metro constructed. He is the father of Attiko Metro. He introduced the concept of privately funded public works. Prime examples from that period are Attiki Odos, the Athens International Airport and the Rio bridge.
From February 1992 he was Minister of National Economy and from August 1992 to October 1993 Minister of National Economy and Finance.
In April 1999 he founded the political party “The Liberals”. Its emblem a charging bull.
Until June 2012 was the leader of the political party “Drassi”.
