Lily E. Peppou, MSc, PhD(c), is the Coordinator of the Unit of Social Psychiatry and Psychosocial Care at the UMHRI “Costas Stefanis”, Scientific Advisor of BREATHE HELLAS and Scientific Collaborator of the National Public Health Organization for the EU Joint Action ImpleMENTAL. She also teaches “Psychosocial Reintegration and Community Psychology” at Panteio University. As a clinician, she belongs to the Hellenic Psychoanalytic Society. She has vast research, teaching and clinical experience on the field of mental health and her main research interests include community care, involuntary hospitalizations, social prescription, primary prevention, mental health policy, patient participation and stigma. She has also designed, conducted and evaluated many public mental health interventions (e.g. “Collective Well-being” in the Museum of Cycladic Art). She has been among the leading researchers on the mental health effects of the financial crisis in Greece and she has presented her work on numerous national and international conferences. She has worked as a researcher (including evaluation of interventions and initiatives) on many international and multicentre projects and she has more than 50 international publications at peer-reviewed journals, including the World Psychiatry, Lancet, BMJ Open, Social Psychiatry & Psychiatric Epidemiology, Health Expectations, etc.
