Takis S Pappas (PhD, Yale), formerly an academic, is a political scientist known for his work on illiberalism and democracy. He has authored seven books, including Populism and Liberal Democracy (Oxford, 2019) and, more recently, Paradoxical Country: Why Greece Lags Behind Ireland and Portugal and What Can We Learn from Them? (forthcoming, May 2024, in Greek). He is a regular columnist in the Sunday edition of Greek newspaper Kathimerini.
