•Elena Rapti was born and raised in Thessaloniki.
• Ηolds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hellenic Culture (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences / Open University of Cyprus) as well as a Postgraduate Degree (MBA) in Business Administration (Winchester University).
• Worked as an independent professional in the field of Audiovisual Communication Systems.
• Founding member of the Social Organization “Agapi” and the Volunteer Information Centre “Team with You”.
• (1998) First elected as a City Council Member in the Municipality of Thessaloniki - and again re-elected in 2002 by a majority vote.
• (2004) First elected as Member of the Hellenic Parliament with the political party of New Democracy (ND) for the Thessaloniki A΄ Constituency - and consecutively re-elected ever since.
• (2011) appointed Secretary of Volunteerism and NGO of New Democracy.
• (2012) appointed
o Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
Where she was further appointed:
• Member of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development, the Committee on Equality and Non-discrimination
• Member of the Parliamentary Network on the Ending of Child Sexual Abuse and
• Coordinator of the campaign “ONE in FIVE” of the Council of Europe in Greece.
• (2015) took over the Culture Sector of New Democracy.
• (2017) appointed member of the group of experts of the EPAS programme of the CoE and the EU under the title “PSS+ - Ending sexual harassment and abuse of children in sports.
• (2021) appointed Head of the National Action Plan for the Protection of Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation.
• (2022) appointed National Coordinator for the Prevention and the Response to the Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Minors by decision of the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis
• In June 2023, Elena Rapti was appointed Deputy Minister of Tourism.
