Ramunas Macius, a Lithuanian national, is currently leading Fiscal Affairs and Anti-illicit trade team at Japan Tobacco International (JTI), HQ in Geneva, Switzerland. His team is responsible for designing global excise tax strategies to accommodate the government need for the tax revenues with consumer affordability and legal business continuity. The team is also coordinating the response to growing issue of illegal trade in tobacco products.
In JTI Ramunas Macius held various Corporate Affairs leadership roles responsible for the development of regulatory strategies, including for the products with potential reduced risk . He has also an experience in building and leading an Agile team of Corporate Affairs professionals in HQ.
Ramunas Macius began his career in politics as a member of media relations team of Lithuanian President. He also led Public Relations division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and worked in the Embassy of Lithuania in Brussels.
