Grigoris Zarifopoulos is a partner at Oliver Wyman, a global leader in management consulting. Based in Athens, Grigoris co-leads the firm’s activities in Greece. A partner in the firm’s Digital practice, he offers a unique perspective for clients thanks to his multifaceted career as a senior manager in the private sector as well as the Greece Deputy Minister of Digital Governance.
During his time working for the Greek government, Grigoris was responsible for the country’s national digital strategy, and for attracting foreign direct investment in digital technology. His role was pivotal during the COVID-19 pandemic, as he helped develop and deliver vital digital services to the Greek citizens.
Prior to his governmental role, Grigoris spent several years at Google, leading its development in Southeast Europe as head of the region, and CEO for Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Malta. His knowledge of the digital and tech sector is complemented by an expertise in the retail industry, previously holding prominent roles at Gap and IKEA.
Grigoris holds a BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, University of London, a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
