Mr. George Georgopoulos is Executive General Manager at Piraeus Bank, Chief Human Resources and Group Change Officer, Member of the Executive Committee of the Group.
He has been with the Bank since 1999. He began his banking career in NetWest and consequently joined Piraeus Bank where he served in various positions spanning from Deputy Treasurer in the Financial Market Department, to Head of Branch Network, to Head of Individual’s Banking and Bancassurance in Retail. In his different capacities he successfully completed large scale projects among which the integration and optimization of the Branch Network post the six Bank merge in 2013, established Piraeus Bank Personal Banking as a leading operation in the country, lead the last and largest (30%) FTE optimization exercise.
He is Chairman of the Board of Piraeus Banks’ Institution for Occupational Retirement Provision (IORP) and has served in various Board positions in the Group’s subsidiaries and third companies.
