Natassa Stamou is Vice Chair of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) and Chair of the Investments Guarantee Fund.
She has extended experience in the Greek Capital Market, as, prior to her appointment to the HCMC, she was, for twenty years, legal advisor, compliance officer, DPO and member of various administrative committees of the Athens Exchange Group.
She has long-term experience in companies’ financing through IPOs, as well as in new listings, corporate transactions of listed companies, creation of new markets and products and the operation of market entities.
Ms Stamou has been actively involved in corporate governance since 2012, when she participated from the Stock Exchange's side in the establishment of Hellenic Corporate Governance Council (HCGC ΕΣΕΔ). She is a member of the Board of Directors and General Director of the Council.
As Vice-Chair of the HCMC, responsible for corporate governance, she has taken the lead in the enactment of the relevant law especially through a continuous dialogue with stakeholders.
She is also actively involved in sustainable finance and ESG issues.
She participated (as member of the Steering Committee) in the "Capital Market Development Strategy" project of the Ministry of Finance.
She is Secretary General of the European Society for Banking and Financial Law (AEDBF / ESBFL).
She is, also, a member of various committees and working groups in national, European and international organizations.
She is a frequent public speaker and has several publications in newspapers and on financial websites.
She participates, by providing voluntary work, to non-profit and non-governmental organizations.
