Markos Sigalas is born in Piraeus with family roots in Santorini.
 
With a degree in electrical engineering and a yearlong experience he has been active in the shipping industry in the field of technology for the last 35 years.
 
He has received more than 35 certifications from international organizations regarding environmental regulations and automation systems.
 
He founded EDIT Automation in 2006 and has been providing services to shipyards worldwide in new building vessels ever since.
In 2011 he started creating and installing automation systems in newly built ships.
 
Through his career he has visited more than 110 countries to offer his expertise and services and to install his systems on more than 3500 ships.
 
EDIT Automation’s latest achievement created in 2022 is the design and production of the ECO 8 ShaPoLi electronic system, which aims to record and move the ship’s main engine in order to control and record pollutants, compliant with international navigation rules (EEXI).
 
This specific ECO 8 ShaPoLi system is the only one worldwide with five international certifications, received in only five months, with more than 2000 sales made to ships of Greek and foreign interests.
 
In 2023 EDIT Automation is representing more than 10 multinational companies in Greece and Cyprus which are pioneers in the field of shipping and the industrial sector not only as an authorized seller but also as a certified service engineer company.
