Christiana is the Corporate Reporting Leader for EY’s Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe & Central Asia (CESA) region, which includes 29 countries. She has served as the audit partner in charge of multinational engagements in various industries, in both Greece and in Southeast Europe. With more than 25 years of professional experience and her longstanding involvement with EY’s Global IFRS network, she has provided a wide range of financial accounting advisory services to major corporates and has been supporting EY teams on technical issues providing valuable solutions.
Christiana is also a member of EY’s Global IFRS policy committee, which is the ultimate IFRS decision body of the Global firm and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), member of the Institutes of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus and of Romania, and member of the Institute of Certified Auditors - Accountants in Greece. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Financial Analysis from the University of Warwick in the UK.
Experience
• She has extensive experience on IFRS practical implementation matters and long-term participation in EY’s IFRS network at EMEIA and Global level, while has been leading the CESA IFRS Desk for a number of years. This role involves dealing with a number of IFRS technical issues, acting as IFRS advisor, performing pre-issuance IFRS reviews for entities listed locally or cross-border (including the US SEC), and issuance of IFRS technical opinions.
• As the Greek firm’s IFRS Technical Partner, she frequently interacts with the Capital Markets Commission and other regulators.
• Christiana has acted as Financial Accounting Advisor for large entities across CESA on transaction accounting, implementation of IFRS, and other accounting advice.
