HU Jingjing, an Associate professor of Greek linguistics and philology in China, holds significant leadership roles in the field. She is the Director of the Greek Department and the Greek Studies Center at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), underscoring her influence and expertise. Additionally, she is a corresponding member of the Greek Writers Association.
HU Jingjing's journey in Greek studies spans over two decades, a testament to her deep-rooted passion and commitment. She graduated from Shanghai International Studies University with a master's degree in European languages and literature. Since 2004, she has taught Greek at SISU, enriching the academic community with extensive knowledge and experience.
Her main research areas include teaching Greek as a foreign language, modern Greek literature, Greek-Chinese translation, Sino-Greek relations, etc. She has published 3 translated books in Chinese and compiled 2 Greek textbooks to fill the gaps in China. She has also published more than 20 papers in academic journals and proceedings.
HU Jingjing's dedication to advancing Greek studies extends beyond her academic roles. She is actively involved in strengthening exchanges between China and Greece, promoting cooperation between SISU and Greek universities. Her efforts have led to significant initiatives, such as establishing the Confucius Institute at Aristotle University, demonstrating her commitment to fostering international academic collaborations.
She has interpreted for three Greek Prime Ministers and other dignitaries during their visits to China and for Sino-Greek cultural events.
