Kalliopi Amygdalou is an architect, Senior Research Fellow and Principal Investigator of the ERC Starting Grant HOMEACROSS ('Space, Memory and the Legacy of the 1923 Population Exchange between Greece and Turkey') at ELIAMEP. She has previously worked as Lecturer at the School of Architecture of Izmir Institute of Technology in Turkey (2015-2017). She has also held a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship (REPLICIAS, 2017-2019). Her research interests relate to urban space, architecture and cultural heritage in southeastern Europe. She holds a PhD degree from the Bartlett School of Architecture (U.C.L., 2014), a M.Sc. in Culture and Society from London School of Economics (2010) and a Diploma in Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens (2009). She speaks Greek, English, Turkish, and French. Her recent publications include Constructions of Homeland: Architecture, Identity and Memory in the Greek Communities of Odessa and Marseille, 19th and 20th centuries (Futura, 2022),
and The Future as a Project: Doxiadis in Skopje (Hellenic Institute of Architecture, 2018).
