The Tsitouras Collection, Greece

From a very early age, inspired by his family background he has been drawn to the arts, resulting in creating his art collection and has not stopped enriching it until today.

A Civil and Marine Law Professor for many years as a private university tutor and in various companies for almost 20 years. He has been a lawyer for many profound Greek personalities of the arts and letters, such as the families of George Seferis and Spyros Marinatos as well as Yiannis Tsarouchis.

In 1982 he founded the Archive of Theraic Studies – Dimitris Tsitouras Collection, which is the umbrella under which his various collection co-exist and the publishing name of his editions. He has published sixteen different editions, and has three extra ones planned for the upcoming releases. In 1988, his love for Santorini, drove him into preserving the heritage of an old 1780 mansion with an extended renovation and transforming it into five separate houses, each demonstrating a different style and art collection theme. A pioneer for his time, he introduced the concept of an art hotel to the guest which is unique until today. "The Tsitouras Collection", has been embraced by various prominent visitors, such as Gianni Versace, Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier, Peter Stein, Pedro Almadovar, Hugh Jackman, Nana Mouskouri and Dominique de Villepin.

In 1993, he introduced "The Tsitouras Collection" in Athens, a design store, which created various decorative items as well as jewelry and paintings. The laurel wreath stands as the symbol of the collection, present in anything Dimitris Tsitouras puts his mark on, has been created exclusively for him by the profound Greek painter, Yannis Tsarouchis as a symbol of eternal friendship, beaty, praise, and glory. Many items of "The Tsitouras Collection" have been given as official gifts by the Greek State, the Church and the Athens 2004 Olympic Games Committee. Creations of "The Tsitouras Collection" can be found today from the White House (USA) to the Vatican.

"The Tsitouras Collection" (as well as Dimitris Tsitouras himself) has taken part in Greek and foreign television productions. The Discovery Channel and the French network TV5 are only some examples.
