Dr. Ioannis N. Lagoudis is faculty at the Department of Maritime Studies at the University of Piraeus. Prior to this appointment he served as faculty at the MIT Global SCALE Network (MIT-Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation) part of MIT’s Center for Transportation and Logistics and at the Department of Shipping Trade and Transport at the University of the Aegean. As a Fulbright research scholar he joined the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics in 2010. Since 2023 he is appointed as a Fulbright Greece Outreach Ambassador. Professor Lagoudis is active in industry as well, advising multinational companies and Government agencies in Asia, U.S.A., and Europe on maritime and supply chain related issues. Among the companies he has collaborated with are CSX, Starbucks, Petronas, Ralph Lauren, and Johor Port Authority. Currently he is advising Greek and U.S. based companies active in ocean transportation at strategic and operational level. His research focus is on supply chain management, maritime logistics, strategic management and decision-making. He has published several papers in conferences and academic journals. He is the Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Decision Sciences, Risk and Management.
