Dr. Abdullah K. Al-Saud is the Assistant Director General of Policy Planning
Head of the Special Taskforce for Afghanistan at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He worked previously as an Associate Professor of security studies at the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), in Riyadh, and an Associate Fellow at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalization (ICSR), King’s College London. He was also the Director of Research at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) in Riyadh, where he also headed the Security Studies Research Unit, between 2018 and 2020. In addition to having contributed several book chapters, Dr. Abdullah’s academic work was published in a number of leading peer-reviewed journals in the field, such as Terrorism and Political Violence and Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, and his articles and analyses were featured in both English and Arabic magazines and newspapers. Dr. Abdullah holds a PhD in War Studies from King’s College London, an MA in International Peace and Security from King’s College London, and a BA in Law from King Saud University.
