Byron Theodoropoulos

Stand up Comedian; Mathematician; Author

bmth, Greece

Byron Theodoropoulos was born, raised and is based in Athens.
He studied Applied Mathematics at the National Technological University of Athens and was charmed by Math as they constitute a vast and concrete universe of true and proven statements on which someone can construct and conjecture freely. Speaking of constructs, in his mid twenties he joined the band Fingers Crossed as a bass guitar player, they released the album “Hopscotch”(available online)
He also released online a quirky math dictionary for high school students.
Having said that comedy eventually won his heart!
in 2011 he participated in a stand-up comedy open mic competition and was immediately hooked.
Since then he has released 4 stand-up comedy specials (available online), toured extensively in Greece and Europe and has always been an active member of the booming greek stand comedy scene, acquiring (for now) a style of comedy that lingers between storytelling and witty observational comedy.
Byron possesses a diverse range of passions, blending the analytical precision of mathematics with the strategic depth of chess. His love for music reflects a deep appreciation for creativity and expression, while his enjoyment of stand-up comedy highlights a keen sense of humor and appreciation for wit. His ability to draw connections between seemingly disparate subjects underscores his capacity to offer insightful perspectives on complex topics.
