Mette Asmussen is the Lead for Maritime Sector Initiatives at the World Economic Forum covering industry decarbonization for the shipping sector as part of the Center for Nature and Climate. The World Economic Forum has incubated a number of specific initiatives within the shipping sector and is ongoingly exploring how to leverage industry action for impact. Among other she leads the work for the shipping sector in the First Movers Movers Coalition that seeks to accelerate low carbon technologies through demand and power of procurement. She has previously worked in the maritime sector five years in A.P. Moller Maersk and has experience from five years working in the public sector in Denmark as well as the Danish Embassy in Washington, D.C. and holds a master in Economics.
