George Linardatos was born in Peristeri – Athens in 1952. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies (B.Sc., M.Sc.) in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. He received his Teaching Degree with Grade Excellent from the School of the Pedagogical and Technological Education University in Athens, in 1991. Up to 1990 he worked for the International Shipbuilding and Shipping Industries. Since 1991 he has occupied the positions of Highschool Teacher, Senior Highschool Director, Junior Highschool Director and General Director at the Avgoulea-Linardatou School, in Peristeri-Athens. He has served as elected Chairman of the Hellenic Association of Independent Schools and currently serves as member of the HAIS board. He represents HAIS at the European Council of National Associations of Independent Schools (ECNAIS). Under his leadership the Avgoulea-Linardatou School, has grown into one of the largest, most prestigious and technologically advanced schools in Greece. Today it serves almost 1.600 students, employs 360 teachers and other employees, carries the distinction of Microsoft Showcase School and is one of the very few schools in Greece that is ISO certified.
