Dr Ioanna Tsivacou is Emeritus Professor of the Panteion University of Athens.
For many years she taught theory of organization and sociology of organization, initially at the University of the Aegean, and later at Panteion University, Department of Communication, Media and Culture. Also, for a period of six years she taught in the postgraduate programme of this department “Management of cultural organizations”. During all these years, her teaching focused mainly on issues such as “Organizational Design, Change and Strategy”, “Worker's self-identity in intensive knowledge organizations”, “Work process in the era of information technology”, “Organizational culture and change”, “Risk Society (From Technology to Morality)”, “Feeling and Rationality”, “Meaning and Technology”.
She taught as visiting professor at American Universities (such as the University of Colorado Denver, University of Minnesota, George Mason University), as well as at British Universities (such as the University of Hull). She participated in many seminars and international conferences as key-note speaker, and also as researcher in many research projects financed by European Union.
She served as referee and member of Advisory Committe of international journals such as Systems Practice, Systems Research and Behavioral Science, Management Learning, and others.
During her career, she has published many scientific papers in international journals and collective volumes as well as in Greek ones, on sociological and organizational issues. She has also published many books in Greek. Her last book is: Around the Shores of Meaning, Athens: I. Sideris, 2023.
