Teacher of Ancient Greek and Latin Prose Composition

Schola Humanistica, Italy

A classics graduate from the Scuola Normale Superiore, director of instruction of Schola Humanistica, has taught intensive courses in Latin composition and Greek literature at the universities of Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań and Vilnius since 2012. He has always moved in liminal territory between writing, theater and the renewal of classical disciplines. He is the author of "Antenore," a drama in the Venetian language inspired by a lost tragedy by Sophocles, currently performed in several cities in northern Italy. In 2018 he founded, together with Giuseppe Marcellino, Schola Humanistica, an institute for the defense and promotion of classical languages. He is the organizer of THALIA, an international festival of theater in Latin and Ancient Greek. He created, together with the actor Stefano Rizzardi, the show BacchusPentheus, curating in particular its Latin text, which takes the form of a metrical translation and reinvention of Euripides' Bacchae.
