Mr. Xiao Junzheng currently serves as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Hellenic Republic. Mr. Xiao received Ph.D. degree in history from Peking University in 1997. After two years’ role as Assistant Research Fellow at China Institute of International Studies, he started his professional diplomat career in 1998. From 1998 to 2002, he worked as Third Secretary and then Second Secretary in the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Islamic Republic of lran. From 2003 to 2008, he was Second Secretary, Deputy Division Chief, Division Chief, in the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. He worked as Counselor in the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Türkiye between 2008 and 2012, and after that, he served as Counselor and Deputy Director General respectively, in the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs, MFA, PRC, before 2019. From 2019 to 2021, he acted as Minister Counselor and Minister of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Since 2021, he has been serving as the Chinese Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic and 2024 is his fourth year in Greece.
