He served as a Member of the House of Commons for nearly 28 years , including 9 years as a government Minister under Prime Ministers David Cameron and Theresa May. He served 6 yeas as Europe Minister, responsible for the UK's relations with more than 50 countries and territories in Europe and Central Asia, and representing the UK at the EU , NATO, OSCE, Council of Europe and the UN Security Council. David later served as Leader of the House of Commons, Justice Secretary, and Minister for the Cabinet Office - in which last role he was also Deputy to Prime Minister May.
