Lena Divani is a novelist, essayist, playwright and - until 2022 when she resigned - Professor of Diplomatic History at the Law School/ University of Athens. She published several essays and articles on nationalism, minorities and the territorial integration of Greece .
She has been Visiting Research Fellow at Harvard University, King's College London and the League of Nations Archive (UN) in Geneva.
She collaborated with the historical archive of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to publish the diplomatic documents related to the incorporation of Dodecanese in Greece.
She also collaborated with the Hellenic Culture Foundation on the subject of the Greek diaspora.
She published several articles (TA NEA daily newspaper) on foreign policy, minority issues and women rights.
She is a founding member of the National Commission for Human Rights.
She has been vice-president of the National Book Center, the Organization for the management of the intellectual copy rights and member of the Board of Directors of ERT.
As a novelist she won in 1994 the debut author award. Since then she published several novels, short story collections and children's books translated into many foreign languages and adapted for television.
In addition to her 4 plays, she wrote the script and presented two historical documentary tv series for Cosmote history channel, based on her books ("The borders of Greece" and "Couples who wrote the history of Greece") She is a regular speaker for women rights -and human rights in general.
Her latest book (WORKING BOY) was the Greek proposal for the READERS FOR EUROPE initiative of the European Union library.
