Since 2021, Fotis has been Executive Vice President of the Capgemini Group. Based in London, Fotis works globally with leading industry sectors, Communications Service Providers and State Authorities to support their innovation and digital transformation journey. Leveraging the power of the technology ecosystem and advanced connectivity, Fotis brings together the vision and wealth of telco skills, systems integration capabilities & assets of Capgemini and the world’s best global technology partners. Fotis’ goal is to create breakthrough solutions and cutting-edge use cases at scale for Telecommunications and industrial customers. Beyond the Telecommunications industry, areas of interests are 5G for Public Safety, 5G for Critical Industries, 5G for Satellite Communications as well as AI / Gen AI.
Fotis was previously the CTIO of EE, the UK’s largest and best mobile operator (with 28 million subscribers). Within the British Telecom (BT) Group, as CTIO, he was responsible for the delivery of the UK’s 5G Network in May 2019, one of the first global launches. Fotis also lead the delivery of the Emergency Services Network (ESN) for the UK, based on the EE 4G Mobile Network (for the migration from Tetra to broadband for the Met Police, FireBrigade and the Healthcare first responders).
As CTIO for BT Enterprise, he also worked with industries and 5G PNs to drive innovation in sectors such as for ports, healthcare and manufacturing.
From 2010, as CTIO, he led EE to be the first to launch 4G in the UK, following the merger of operators Orange and T-Mobile UK.
From 2007to 2010, Fotis was the CIO of Romtelecom (part of OTE Group), and worked on the successful merger of DT with OTE Group.
From 1997 to2007, Fotis served as Director of IT & Telecoms for the ‘greenfield‘ Athens International Airport.
Fotis received the Mobile Europe CTO of the Year award in 2015 and the IT Manager of the Year award for Greece in 2002.
Fotis is an Electrical Engineer who graduated from the University of Patras in Greece, and holds an MSc El. Eng. degree from the Institute of Science and Technology at the University of Manchester, UK.
